Peer Review of the book ‘Organizational Decision Making-An Art and Science'

Decision making is the most perilous element of any business. Making Decision is a critical task in both personal and professional lives because of unknown future. According to Peter Drucker, “The most common source of mistakes in management decisions is the emphasis on finding the right answer rather than the right question”. This decision-making book covers diverse models and techniques, which will allow one to expand one’s thinking and drift over many elements which one may have not thought out before. This book clearly indicates that most of the decisions are irrational if not gone through a critical thinking procedure. The best part of this book is the sequential process of explanation and ease to understand. If someone wants to start off with a quick read, grab this book and read cover to cover.

The author (Dr. Ajay Garg) has used a simple context to explain different expects of decision making. The readers will find great value in this book of 264 pages, providing great insights in making the right decisions. The chapters in this book are in a progressive manner to make a decision with rational decision making procedure. Every case study given in this book is appropriate and pertinent. The author has gone cavernous in explaining the tools and key elements in decision making.

Dr. Garg is an experienced content writer with a wide range of expertise in industry and academia. In this very book, he has extended a broad spectrum of topics that address cognitive, qualitative and quantitative aspects of organizational decision making keeping the thoroughness and upkeep of all the relevant topics. Hallmarks of this book include assimilating different theories, methods, hypotheses, cost benefit analysis, procedure for collecting the facts, and brainstorming a situation for making a correct and applicable decision through a unified and conceptual framework. The author has explained the different decision-making models, which are fundamental and relevant to organizations. I feel that after going through this book the readers will have long lasting impact in their life.

I congratulate and wish good luck to Dr. Garg for this brilliant endeavor.
