About The Book
Fundamentals of Design is the first published book for introductory to intermediate level designers in a two year or 4 year educational program as well as a non-design professional that needs an introductory view on graphic design. The book is intended to teach visual understanding of design and examine the conceptual and theoretical processes that are the basis for visual communication. It defines the properties of visual elements of design, presents the historical background of graphic design, and examines tools used for production and printing, as it looks at typography, color, imagery, visual organization and publication design. The text aims to demonstrate how design basics are put to effective use in the real world.
